New Accreditation’s Achieved

Bartrams are delighted to announce that they have recently been inspected and accredited to the new 2015 revisions of  the ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems) standards.

This continued certification also adds to the previously awarded  ISO 27001:2013 (Client and Company Data Security) standard, which was gained in 2015.

It’s been well documented over recent weeks that a large number of disabled people have been left frustrated as they wait up to and beyond the intended maximum 18 week period for NHS wheelchairs.

However, an innovative collaboration between Bartrams Healthcare and Sunrise Medical is set to dramatically reduce these lead-times for users to just 3 weeks.

The joint venture unites the specialist assessment and manufacturing expertise of both organisations, amalgamating their extensive knowledge and production processes together in order to get their manual and powered wheelchairs out to the clients faster than ever.

With a combined 60+ year’s industry experience supplying mobility equipment throughout the healthcare sector, this new initiative is designed to provide a more responsive service, without compromising on quality and clinical standards.

Lucky Retail Customer ‘Skips’ With Joy!

A Bartrams Mobility customer was left almost ‘Skipping’ with joy after being announced as the winning entry of our ‘Skippa’ Boot Scooter competition, which has been running across our mobility retail outlets since the New Year.

Charity Wheelchair Donation From Bartrams

A seven year old girl who was born with Cerebral Palsy has benefited from a new wheelchair, thanks to a donation by Ely based mobility healthcare company Bartrams.

Rachel Mulongesha lives in the village of Chingola, Zambia and for the past five years being carried around on the back of her father, Webby Mulongesha, has been the only way she has been able to get around. Webby works for the organisation Street Children Projects, a charity that aids children who need care.

“A representative from the charity contacted Bartrams directly as they were looking for support in fundraising towards a new wheelchair for Rachel, which would offer her improved mobility; especially whilst her father was at work. On hearing Rachel’s story we were naturally keen to help out and I’m extremely happy to announce that the donation of an ‘Easy Life R’ wheelchair was arranged on her behalf.” Comments Bartrams Marketing Co-ordinator, Lawrence Savage.

Motability Scheme

Bartrams Mobility now offers the Motability scooter and powered wheelchair lease scheme.

The package will be available for anyone who receives Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance.  The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment as these weekly payments can be exchanged to lease a new scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability scheme.  This gives a new opportunity to those who may find daily mobility difficult.

As showcased at the recent Posture & Mobility (PMG) conference, our two newly launched cushions are causing a lot of interest.

The Treat-Lite Stratus cushion provides the comfort of an air cushion, without the need for electricity or a pump.  It features a unique cross checked weave that gives unsurpassable strength.

In addition, the Aceso cushion is designed to respond to the movement of an individual’s body and is made with multiple air cells.  These cells will constantly adjust to accommodate the body movement.

Bartrams Mobility Opens New Retail Stand

The Bartrams Mobility retail offering has been expanded further with a new stand opening up within the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, based in Peterborough.

Headed up by Vernon Sutton, the sales team will be on hand to provide expert advice on the solutions that best suit a customers mobility needs.  A wide variety of aids for daily living will be on display, including a selection of mobility scooters, wheelchairs and riser recliner chairs.

PMG Conference 2016

Thanks to all those who visited us on stand 23 at the Posture & Mobility Group (PMG) Conference 2016.

The event, held at the Birmingham International Convention Centre (ICC) between 18th-20th July, proved to be a success with over 300 delegates in attendance.  Visitors to the conference included a wide range of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and clinical scientists.

With a focus on the mobility needs of wheelchair users, our Bartrams sales team were on hand to talk through our wide selection of cushions, including the popular Gemstone range, as well as the new Treat-Lite Stratus and Aceso models.

Next year’s 25th Anniversary show is scheduled for 17th-19th July at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff.
